I was infatuated with the Divine Lorraine Hotel as a kid. I thought it was a hotel for preachers lol. It was actually a popular hotel on Ridge Ave when it was like black Hollywood of Philly. People like Ella Fitzgerald, Bessie Smith, Count Basie would stay when in town.

Sadly unlike Brooklyn where I live now most historic places in north philly are just run down, boarded up and cracked out vs turned to "vintage charm".
