parents/family that dont know how to use tech unappreciation

this shyt drives me crazy. got a text from my moms

shyt basically read "hey.haventseenuinawhilehopeyouare76645okay.iNEEDYOUTOCOMEHELPMEOutThursday.PLAESECALLME4528"

i got her a computer so she could keep up with the family on facebook or whatever. i used to have to come over and fix it 2-3 times a month. eventually the dog got a hold of it, and its gone. so i got her an iphone. shyt is loaded with candy crush and fifty million bubble pop games.

its hard to believe i came out of her some days

i love my moms and all, but she cannot handle a computer. i dont understand HOW. she was born in the mid 1960s, she aint THAT old. computers were rapidly progressing when she was younger, yet she can't even type very well.

anybody have family like this? shyt drives me nuts man. i'm going to see her today and i know im gonna be pulling my hair out over something

I'm in the same boat, when I'm around my aunt she mysteriously forgets what backspace is on her laptop or forgets how to use an HDMI cable.

yeah, but it was mostly my grandparents which was understandable (and about 15+ years ago)

Used to get calls every day, eventually set up remote access after a while



"No that's not your actual email, that's a desktop icon...and you logged out that's why you don't see anything so let's log you back in"

Okay now is the light on for the screen?"

"No don't click that, matter of fact let me install something real quick"
It did come in handy in getting me ready for early IT jobs and help tickets though

yep. her driving is getting bad too. had to remind her about 4 different green lights and let her know when it wasnt safe to merge. she stays out in the country so people are safe from her rampage. kinda makes you feel bad watching them age, knowing its gonna happen to you (and probably the same way).

but the willful ignorance i cant deal with. doesnt know, doesnt wanna know, doesnt wanna know how, just wants the shyt to work!

i got out there today and shes downgraded to a flip phone. maybe thats a good thing honestly. it explains the one word texts at least... ill have to show her how to do t9key again

Granddad was watching a legit pirated movie on XNXX one day, he called me to "fix the clock" (the time zone was switched in the settings), and acted like there wasn't fat Black asses in the suggestions

Fill Collins was my stage name when I was a stripper, I was thinking of a name until Sussudio came on the radio

I do like his solo music though, EARLY PC-era Genesis isn't that bad, Invisible Touch gets a bad wrap but I see why ppl don't fw him
