The Carolina Panthers will wear their black jerseys for Super Bowl 50.

The Panthers didn’t have much say in the matter after the Broncos, deemed the home team for the Feb. 7 matchup, picked their white jerseys for the game. Alternate jerseys aren’t allowed in the Super Bowl, so that cancels out Carolina’s blue tops.

It’s unclear whether the Panthers will wear silver pants or black pants, though the team hasn’t donned its all-black look – once voted on as the best uniform combination in NFL history – in a regular season or postseason game since losing to San Francisco in the postseason after the 2013 season.

The AFC participant is the home team in the Super Bowls that take place in even-numbered years. Denver gets the choice of jersey, while the Panthers will call the coin toss.

The Broncos, who have been to the Super Bowl seven other times with two wins, are 0-4 in the Super Bowl when they wear the orange jerseys.

The Panthers are 9-4 all-time in white jerseys in the playoffs while 0-2 in black. Carolina lost Super Bowl XXXVIII wearing white jerseys.
