Ryan Grigson wins NFL Executive of the Year - SBNation.com

This is a tragedy, brehs.

John Schneider deserved this award.

I will also say this. Luck's ROY candidacy is how he has NO DEFENSE, NO RUN GAME, NO OFFENSIVE WEAPONS, and HAS TO DO IT ALL ON HIS OWN. So, which is it? Did the golden boy carry a terribly assembled roster on his back or did their GM surround him with good-enough talent by replacing half the roster?

it was a combo of the turnaround and how many starters they got out of one draft

wouldnt have had a problem with Schneider getting it, getting guys like Browner/Sherman/Chancellor/Mebane and others for next to nothing has been amazing. as long as Horseface didnt win i was fine with the other 2

John Schneider? :gag:

Grigson easily was GM of the year. Took worst team in the league to the playoffs made nothing but good draft choices, Vontae Davis and Jarrel Freeman signings were huge.

No matter how good the pieces fit on paper they still have to perform on the field genius. :comeon: Grigson just played the cards almost perfectly allowing Andrew to maximize his talent (minus the O line issues)

Lets review.

Drafted the best value pick of the draft, getting Dangeruss in the 3rd round, hands down.

Everyone hated on the Bruce Irvin pick in the 1st round. What did he do? He only led all rookies in sacks as a situational pass rusher w/ 8.5.

Bobby Wagner in the 2nd round, and he will probably win DROY.

Good some contributions later in the draft from Robert Turbin and others.

Next year when IND plays a harder schedule, yall are gonna be crying about how the talent level around Luck is subpar and that will be the excuse for all the losses to come.

breh this is the top half of the colts first draft under grigson
1.01 Andrew Luck, QB, Stanford
2.02 Coby Fleener, TE, Stanford
3.01 Dwayne Allen, TE, Clemson
3.29 T.Y. Hilton, WR, Florida International
5.01 Josh Chapman, DT, Alabama
5.35 Vick Ballard, RB, Mississippi State
6.36 LaVon Brazill, WR, Ohio

Besides Luck setting all kinds of records which was a no brainer, Dwayne Allen had the number 1 season from a rookie tight end in colts history. Better than Dallas Clark under Manning..... T.Y. Hilton also set all kinds of rookie records and became a borderline star under Luck. Chapman is a starter and underrated for a rookie as well.

Thats not even mentioning Vick Ballard who behind the colts horrible o line rushed for a respectable ypc. All these players contributed the draft was a home run. He earned this award. The results showed it :wow: Exceeded everyones expectations

sorry for a shameless plug, but Ive always liked that irvin pick. he didnt develop as fast into a monster as I thought he would, but hes definitely proved the doubters wrong even for now

Yeah, the way the year started looked like he was going to beast. But looking at how long a lot of pass rushers take to develop, I think he's gonna end up a monster. A lot of hawks fans bag on him since he didn't turn into an every down player, but I was very impressed. He just needs a couple moves, and he needs his own "justin smith".
