Outside of the streaming era were the late 90's the best time for left-field, indie, etc. creatives?

Movies like The Matrix & The Sixth Sense were finding massive success

harmony korin & other weirdos were getting prime time interview spots

I'd say this spilled into 00' - 01' as well

I agree. I want to say Miramax before Weinstein caught hell for what he did, and especially during the time when Quentin dropped Pulp Fiction.

Though I feel like there was a shift in the early 2010s alongside the rise of A24. Felt like audiences began being more receptive to obscure, out of left field projects than ever before during then.

A24 changed the game. They were like the catalyst for the revival of "high brow" horror as well.

Pretty much 95 to 05 was a time where Hollywood allowed a lot different ideas to breathe and come to the big screen
