2015-16 Record: 12-4 :ehh: (top of the AFC East and we would've done better without key injuries)
Head Coach: Bill Belichick :beli:

Core Players:

Tom Brady
Rob Gronkowski
Dont’a Hightower
Malcolm Butler

Key Additions:
Martellus Bennett

X-Factors:
Jimmy Garoppolo
Dion Lewis
Julian Edelman

OK, Brady's suspended for the first 4 games. fukk it. :GhostfaceStare: This will be the the first time since the 2008 season that the Patriots will be without star quarterback Tom Brady for a significant portion of the season. The Pats will open the year with third-year starter Jimmy G at QB as Brady serves his four-game suspension for his involvement in the deaded D*flategate saga.:manny:

Jimmy G has NEVER started an NFL game and has attempted only 31 passes in his 2 seasons with New England. :sadcam:But now he's gonna hold the fort while Brady's out. At least we play 3 of our first 4 games at home, which gives Jimmy G and the Pats a legit chance of going .500 (or better :yeshrug:) during Brady’s absence. That said, they open the season with a tough road game at the Arizona Cardinals.:patrice:

Thankfully, Jimmy G has looked good early in training camp. But Belichick will have to re-design the team's offence a bit in order to make things easier on Jimmy G and won't ask him to handle as much at the line of scrimmage.

We have A LOT of important players in the final year of their contracts, so we traded emerging pass rusher Chandler Jones to the Arizona Cardinals :dwillhuh: before the Draft in order to create salary-cap space and avoid losing a quality player for nothing. Jones, 26, was the team's best outside rusher over the last three years, recording a total of 30 sacks with 7 forced fumbles. :wow::martin: Our defence also lost longtime linebacker Jerod Mayo to retirement and released defensive tackle Dominique Easley, our 2014 first round pick, due to character issues and durability concerns. :mjpls:

On offense, we've basically kept our personnel, except for Brandon LaFell being the lone notable departure. :russell:LaFell had a big year with New England during their Super Bowl season in 2014, but played like shyt last year. He recorded 515 receiving yards in 2015 but didn't score one fukking touchdown.

BUT we got MARTELLUS BENNETT! :ooh::ohlawd::salute:We've been searching for an Aaron Hernandez-like complement to Rob Gronkowski at tight end and we FINALLY found him when we traded for veteran Bennett from the Chicago Bears. :blessed:The combination of Bennett and Gronk will create a matchup nightmare in the passing game, which could open up other receivers as well, and the former Bear is also regarded as one of the better blocking tight ends in the league. This move is redundant evidence that the Pats are the best run organization in the League. :UMadPats:

We further strengthened our receiving corps by landing Chris Hogan as a restricted free agent to help stretch the field and we also brought in veteran Nate Washington, who was a reliable deep-ball weapon earlier in his career.:ehh:

Defensively, the Patriots went back to their roots and added bulk at the line of scrimmage, bringing in defensive tackle Terrance Knighton. :PacHahaPats:The 300-pounder will take over Vince Wilfork's old responsibilities in its base packages and will come off the field on passing downs, which is where new addition Chris Long could factor in. Long, the second-overall pick of the 2008 draft, signed a bargain deal to replace some of Jones's snaps at defensive end. He ain't an elite pass rusher :whoa: but he's a versatile player who can stop the run and pressure the QB when healthy (which is a key question mark). We also added Bears' 2012 first-rounder Shea McClellin in free agency, who could play DE after spending 2 years as an off-the-ball linebacker.

We also made a huuuuuuuuuge addition to its coaching staff by bringing back O-line guru Dante Scarnecchia. He retired after the 2013 season following a 30-year coaching career in New England, but now he's BIKE with us to fix their biggest weakness. Scarnecchia will have to build up the young players, such as rookie guard Joe Thuney, guard Shaq Mason, centre Bryan Stork and right guard Jon Cooper (who came over from the Cardinals in the Jones trade). Beli will be looking to see an IMMEDIATE improvement from our O-line after he decided to NOT renew the contract of former O-line coach Dave DeGuglielmo. :mjlol:

We can win our 2nd Super Bowl in 3 years. Why? Because we're the NFL's version of the San Antonio Spurs. Similar to Gregg Popovich and the recently-retired Tim "GOAT PF" Duncan, the combination of Belichick and Brady has allowed the Patriots to dominate the AFC East for 14 of the last 15 seasons. :PacHahaPats:Heck, Belichick even managed to win double-digit games with Matt Cassel in 2008 so four games of Garoppolo shouldn't come close to hurting us in the beginning of this season. Plus, we have MORE depth across their 90-man roster than we've had in recent years. WE READY! :UMadPats:

The only way we'll lose this season is if our o-line sucks again and Garoppolo crumbles under the pressure. :beli:. If either or both go to shyt, it could open up the door for the Jets in the AFC East. :scust:Outside of that, it's hard to imagine any reason why we're not a Super Bowl contender.

12 of Brady is enough for us to clinch the AFC East. The 4-game suspension could even be a blessing in disguise if it means he's fresher down the stretch.:ohhh:

My predictions:
*We go 13-3 and win the AFC East
*Brady goes off in 12 games following his absence
*Gronk has a record-breaking season
*Our offense leads the league in points per game
*Our defense is ranked top 3
*Dion Lewis stays healthy and becomes a pro-Bowler
*We defeat the Broncos en route to the Super Bowl
*We get the Super Bowl matchup we deserved last season: Pats vs. Panthers
*Brady earns ANOTHER Super Bowl MVP and becomes the undisputed GOAT QB

The league done fukked up :yeshrug:.
Giving the GOAT an extended vacation and thinking its a punishment :dead:.

Tom is gonna peak as playoffs start and it's a wrap:ahh:. Jimmy will get us at least 2 of those first games :obama:.

I'll say we go 12-4. 11-5 at worst. Come in second in the afc if we go 11-5 on some bullshyt tie breaker. Get into the playoffs and tom goes crazy on some insane :umad:shyt :ohlawd:.

Title lock. 2016-2017 NFL champs:banderas::umad:

I hate making predictions about season records, but if they beat the Cardinals, I see them starting 4-0.......

I think they can beat the Cardinals as well. Palmer is turnover prone, the Patriots still have some deadly weapons on offense, and the defense should be ready to go.

The first game will be a low-scoring affair, I predict. A real defensive struggle. I have a 14-10 victory for us. Lots of sacks. Lots of forced fumbles. Lots of interceptions.
