The shyt is seems like it is even lower scoring than it was in the 80s & 90s.

There is NO star power. I cant even tell you who the "sure thing" players are in regards to future NBA stars, which makes me laugh when I see teams tank nowadays. The fukk you tankin' for?:dahell: Aint no franchse players(except Benjamin Simmons). U do better drafting a foreigner to be honest.

I used to be a huge college hoops fan, but the shyt just aint good as it used to be.

College basketball sucks cause all those dudes go to the same fukking teams every year. It's so damn boring. I wish all the top prospects did what Ben Simmons did. Go to a good school that may not be considered an basketball school and put up numbers. Much more fun to watch and I bet to play

I think off the court it's fallen off because other sports are putting money into showcasing their sport and just doing shyt to keep you wanting to continue to check for it. College and Pro football is basically year around at this point and the NBA season extends into the summer which holds us over until training camp opens back up.

On the court, it is because of the rule prohibiting players from skipping HS and having to be on campus for at least one year. A lot of teams are [trying] to just collect as much talent and go from there. It was easier for teams to build for the future

Its because there's no star power. Kids leaving so early that they don't even develop properly. Then they get to the league and ride the bench. Perfect example is my boy Archie Goodwin of the Suns. Bruh coulda been nasty had he stayed and developed at Kentucky. This one and done rule is a cancer on college bball and the NBA. I can imagine what it was like seeing MJ, Patrick Ewing, Hakeem, coming back and dominating the college game to make sure they were prepared for the pro's. I wish kids were required to stay at least 2 years in college.

And cacs always say college basketball is better than the NBA :dahell:

Its not just them I hear a lot of older black folk say that too.

But yeah college hoops is :flabbynsick:, I wish the NBA would just step on their necks and let players declare at 18, expand the D League, and let teams have European-style academies for teen players

I don't get this logic. You can't paint everybody with the same brush.

We have seen players come into the NBA at 18-20 and are immediately impact players, and we've seen players come to the NBA at 18-20 and look like boys amongst men.

We've seen players come into the NBA after 3-4 years in college and are immediate impact players, and we've seen players come to the NBA after 3-4 years in college and look like they don't belong.

I got fond memories of the 2012 draft when people were saying Thomas Robinson, the guy who spent 3 years in college was the most "NBA ready" prospect and not Anthony Davis, the guy who spent 1 year. And well, look how that turned out.

There is no set age or amount of "college experience" that "properly develops" a player.

All these kids going to the same school for only 1 year has made the product suffer. If you watch Dook, UK, and Kansas....you'll catch probably the top 20 players of that year on just those teams. UNC by happenstance stumbled into being a team that plays a fast pace, handful of Burger Boys, and a "name" player that's good that stuck around for a senior year. Unless you're a bball junkie, college bball isn't "must see" like it used to be.
