New York Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora has spent his entire career with New York, but he doesn't expect to stay with the Giants beyond this season.

During a conference call with reporters on Monday, Umenyiora called it a "high probability" that this would be his last season with the Giants.

"Anything is possible. But it's a high probability that I'm going to be playing somewhere else and I think everybody knows that," Umenyiora said, according to ESPN New York. "Let's not kid ourselves."

After being drafted by the Giants in the second round of the 2003 draft, Umenyiora didn't take long to establish himself as one of the best pass rushers in the league. He led the NFC in sacks in 2005, and was twice selected to the All-Pro team. He's had some up-and-downs with the organization in recent years, including a demotion out of the starting lineup and some contract disagreements.

According to the ESPN report, Umenyiora restructured his contract prior to the season with a new deal including a voidable 2013 season. While Umenyiora said he would "have loved to" finish his career with the Giants, he pointed out that not everyone is that fortunate.

Beyond a new contract, the key to his impending departure appears to be a desire to start. Umenyiora said he is still a capable starter in the NFL and not just a situational pass rusher. He's played in all 15 games this season, and has 40 tackles and 6.0 sacks on the year.
:ehh: I doubt he gets a big deal, that Giants DL has been really :flabbynsick: this season. Him, Tuck, JPP have all been underwhelming as fukk this season. I guess that Championship hangover is forreal, but the Giants have literally been :snooze: Looking like the New York Chargers thinking that they can flip that switch.

With the way he :pacspit: on the owners I'm surprised they still kept him that long. He will probably end up on a team like the Ravens or go somewhere where he can make some extra guap before he retires.
