Oprah Winfrey hates the "n-word." As a woman growing up in the South during the Civil Rights Movement, the billionairre has an understandably negative reaction to the racial epithet commonly used to demean Black people.

Winfrey has slammed rap for its misogyny (even though she was close enough with Jay Z to travel back to his Marcy Projects stomping grounds) and use of the word, but now she's closing down her friendship circle to anyone interested in saying it --regardless of the "er" or "a" ending.

In a Parade magazine interview to promote her role in the Lee Daniels flick, The Butler, Lady O made her stance very clear. "You cannot be my friend and use that word around me. It shows my age, but I feel strongly about it. … I always think of the millions of people who heard that as their last word as they were hanging from a tree."

Daniels, who directed the film, added that he's a recovering user of the n-bomb. "It's a word I used quite a bit, until Oprah sat me down and talked to me about its power."

Meanwhile, Butler star Forest Whitaker was never in fear of losing Winfrey's friendship. "I don't use the word. Never did."

One person who doesn't mind using the word? Rae Dawn Chong. Last week Chong called the 59-year-old a brow-nosing "field n----er."

Looks like they won't be friends, if they ever were.
