I agree with this. I don't know how to accomplish it but I agree.

Adult contemporary sounds wack honestly it’s like sports once guys aren’t aren’t on a team (a label) it’s like they out of the game

LL’s most recent album is getting attention but he’s been dropping albums since last decade that didn’t get attention.

Numbers don’t lie

EDIT: The title says -

It actually benefits the artists and labels to have Hip Hop basically under one umbrella.
Yes, for awards, chart positions and overall discussion having official categories would allow artists to be highlighted better. But you would also divide the consumer base.

We actively have entire sub genres of rap, with sub genres within them... but these dudes are clearly out of touch to even make/entertain this argument.

Agreed. I think the better argument is that we have sub genres but white establishments don't acknowledge them. There should be multiple hip hop Grammy categories beyond just melodic rap and rap. Just like with rock and pop.

This would've been a better argument, cause the "Why is Nas grouped with a kid who just graduated HS and had a massive single?" argument is made in bad faith cause they're rappers.

These out of touch weirdos don't realize they're not young anymore, the rappers they've attached themselves to aren't the top draw that they used to be and just don't know where they fit in anymore.

As fast as the culture moves, trying to carve out distinct award categories for hip hop wouldn't work...cause in 2-3 years that sound is going to be gone.
