One of the reasons why the MCU kicks so much ass in movies and TV is in the wardrobe.

The wardrobe is subtle and functional. It serves a purpose and they only break it out when they need to.

Ant-Man, Iron-Man and Falcon suits are the core of their abilities.

But the suits don't define who they are. People complained about Iron Man 3 primarily because he wasn't in the suit for most of the movie. But how many superhero's can carry most of the movie without being in their suit? He did.

Rudd's was able to establish his character outside of putting on the suit to the point that you look forward to his scenes even when he isn't wearing the suit. The same with Falcon.

Captain America's suit has evolved into a more tactical outfit to the point you don't even notice he's in uniform until he dons the mask.

Black Widow and Hawkeye have on tactical type outfits that aren't over the top and are more subtle.

The same with Scarlett Witch.

Even Vision was GQ'd up

They know how to make the characters relatable.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

All of DC's characters costumes are too polarizing. Superman doesn't need to wear an outfit that was meant to be worn on another planet.

But even if you compare him to Thor... Thor doesn't wear that tight ass shyt :mjpl:

And don't even get me started on the TV shows. :russ:

I don't think costumes are the only reason marvel does better. I think marvel just has better writers that know the marvel mythos and how to translate it better to film.... I'm excluding the X-men films because the just need to reboot that franchise and start from scratch. DC always had an overall corny tone to their stories until Frank Miller, Tim Burton and Paul Dini changed it.

Even in the Dark Knight trilogy batman's suit seemed out of place. Batman Begins was the best of the 3 because Bruce Wayne didn't put it on until over 1/2 way through the movie.

The Joker stole the show in TDK partially because he had on a regular outfit as did the other villians.
Bane had on tactical gear. Batman was the only one that seemed out of place.

For the most part the X-Men (in the reboot anyway) has been dope because they don't have on those crazy outfits. But for some reason they have to always go cheesy with it.

There was an article about how the X-Men movies aren't that good in part because they always shy away from the comic book outfits. Well I don't agree. Since they never stick to the comics there should be some leeway with the costume design. It's no wonder they actress playing psylocke felt uncomfortable at times :mjpls:
