The theory of evolution and (what I will call) "the supposition of abiogenesis" are often conflated in our grade schools to the point that someone could easily come away from a young age thinking they're the same thing.
Hell, I did. Until I learned what the tenets of biological evolution actually are.

The bolded is a supposition; a guess. We don't know that, at all.
Evolution and abiogenesis are not at all the same thing. Not even close.
In fact, the tenets of biological evolution are directly at odds with the supposition of abiogenesis.

Nobody knows, and anybody who tells you they do know is lying.
What we do know, is that through mutation, natural-selection, and artificial-selection, that biological organisms adapt to survive.
That's all evolution is.
