Someones gotta go down. :wow:

Boyz II Men - possibly the most popular R&B group of all-time, saleswise Harmonies were taken to a level that hadn't been heard in a couple of decades. 3 certified lead singers. Countless hits. Still releasing albums today. Some ppl say they were too squeaky clean tho

Jodeci - perhaps the most influential R&B group of the 90s. Had one of the most powerful male R&B vocalists of the 90's and a great producer/songwriter who shifted the sound of R&B. Incredible ballads. Didn't last very long tho.

Dru Hill - First two albums were classics, 3rd album was very good. Ignorantly thought to be a knock-off of Jodeci due to Sisqo's voice, but had their own style and had a strong 4-5 year run as a group. Sisqo's solo career ultimately made them lose credibility.

New Edition - perhaps the blueprint of the young male R&B group mold. Every member went on to have a level of success on their own. They had great songs that are timeless and a successful comeback in 1996, but I can't say they have a true classic album.

Although I hate these threads

And everyone making them.. I do like these groups..

I'd throw Dru Hill quickly off that bridge

They should have stayed together and lived up to their potential

I'd take 112 over them which is debatable but they're were more on that level with Jagged Edge

boyz ii men, they could sing but most of their songs were too just "bland" to me (aside from a couple of songs that i thought were ok) but they can get the boot :camby:

dru hill were clones of jodeci but they had some songs that i liked and the songs they had i liked far more than boyz ii men music

new edition were trailblazers, along with guy. new edition did the group thing, then the solo careers and trio group with bbd. those guys are icons

jodeci truly one of a kind and the last original great r&b group. devante was one hell of a writer and producer, k-ci and jojo are like bobby womack jr. and stevie wonder jr voice wise and dalvin was a talented producer and writer as well

I say Jodeci because the run for them was so short.

Dru Hill was the biggest R&B group of my youth and that second album is amazing.
but dru hill whole style is based off jodeci:francis:

I would honestly say New Edition. They music once they were adults never hit like that to me. A lot of people will pick Boyz 2 men because they not the typical bumpNgrind R&B of Today but them boys got Bangers.

Do y'all consider Kci & Jojo run outside of the Group part of they Run or nah?

I'm highly shocked you picked B2M.:wow:

112 is nowhere near Dru Hill musically. Stop It:martin:

Dru Hill came out at the end of Jodeci's/BIIM run. Idk why people consist of putting them in convos with those groups. Dru Hill never had a impact of like they did, Dru Hill should be mixed with 112's/JE & all those late 90's groups.

Hell, I'd pick Silk over Dru Hill anyday
