It's a shame WWE killed his passion for wrestling, cuz he was a fukking maestro at it.

I'm normally a blame WWE guy 95% of the time because the companies frustratingly difficult to side with most of the time but this is one time I blame punks arrogance and sense of entitlement than I do them...

He was given a year long title run and a major push with the world title and he's still crying.....if he was beat up then he had enough clout to take some time off and get better and rejuvenate

He was never a priority during that run with the belt. He didn’t even close a show as champ until 10 months in when he had a one on one match with cena and they were clearly just spinning their wheels until the royal rumble to set up twice in a lifetime. That’s precisely the sort of grievance that he was so public with, that they had no interest in creating new stars or riding the hot hand, just pushing what Vince wants. They had cena in matches with Kane, with Johnny ace, and big show going on after him.

He got paid less than everyone else who took part in high-profile matches at WrestleMania, even though he had the match of the night with Undertaker (and gave Undertaker his last good WrestleMania match). And he was going to take time off after that because he was getting burnt out and frustrated with the way his career was going. He said it in the podcast with Colt Cabana that he never had a real summer vacation until 2013. Then Vince calls him up weeks later and asks him to come back when he didn't want to.

He comes back and they pretty much run out of things for him to do after SummerSlam. That's time he could have easily taken off and used to return rejuvenated in 2014. I don't believe he was done with wrestling at that point. Then his injuries started piling up, he suffered from a staph infection that almost killed him, and the best WrestleMania idea they had for him was a match with Triple H he didn't need. Add that to him getting fired on his wedding day (when his intention was never to leave the company for good), and I can perfectly understand why he's done with wrestling.

Everything you said was correct but you are missing my point, this was not some deliberate attempt to sabotage 'CM Punk' but actually just systemic ineptitude by the company in general. They have done this to a lot of people, shoot let's go down the list: They did this to Booker T, Rey Mysterio, Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins, Eddie Guerrero, Jinder Mahal, Alberto Del Rio, Jack Swagger etc and that's off the top where the world champ was overshadowed. Shoot, they are doing it right now to AJ Styles who is probably the best comparison....Did I just not watch a pay per view where they had 4 50+ year old senior citizen stars main venting over the much younger more talented world champ??

The difference is Booker T, Rey Mysterio, Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins, Eddie Guerrero, Jinder Mahal etc didn't act like whiny, crybaby little b*tches about it or pretend it was some conspiracy against them....

If anyone should be bytching it's Finn Balor... He should be tiered with Seth Rollins but he's Barry Harrowitz status
