MGM Grand, Las Vegas - WBC lightweight champion Omar Figueroa was ringside for Floyd Mayweather's twelve round decision victory over Marcos Maidana.

Figueroa is toying with the idea of a move up to the junior welterweight division. He has a tough time making the lightweight limit, but for now he's still sticking around at 135. The unbeaten Mexican warrior feels he can hang with the best at 140, including dangerous puncher Lucas Matthysse.

"I think it would be a great fight for as long as it lasts. I know I can hit hard, I know he hits hard. So it's just who lands a punch first," Figueroa told BoxingScene.com.

Great matchup. But I will take Matthysse'sKeptical power vs the easy to hit and hand maligned Figueroa.

Bad fight for Fig's IMO. He would have to sell out to keep Matthysse's off him. His hands would be crying .
