Older movies that would've been ruined if cell phones existed when they were made

Watching Home Alone 1 & 2 rt now, and it just hit me that This movie and the scenario wouldn't have happened if cell phones existed.

Instead of his parents not knowing his whereabouts or trying to catch emergency flights back to see if he's OK, all it would've taken is a cell phone call and the situation is over.

Die Hard the police would have arrived a lot sooner. Holly would have known John made his flight, hell they may have left earlier. Movie could've still happened I suppose, but it sure would have been worse off.

ETA: Ellis would have never died. He made his move on Holly, she turned him down, dude would have texted some model broads from Downtown LA and got the hell out of dodge. Would've been better than some warm coke and a bullet to the head, that's for sure.

So internet existed as well? Cell phones existed prior to smart phones by a long time. But if we going with Instagram existing then the only people to post him on the gram would be Elliott, his sister and brother but Elliot wouldn't do that and No one else had seen him.
