That grimy, dated 80s era of sci-fi movies was my joint :banderas:
The practical effects, minature models, creative aliens/monsters/robots, high-tech weapons, spaceships, quotables for days :banderas:
The ultraviolence in a lot of those movies :banderas:

Even the cheap Malibu Bay video action movies with t*ts and ass were fun lol:

Seeing actual explosions and stunt men

cgi is cool for some things but a lot of action sequences are just better with practical effects. A lot of these movies still hold up

Yeah, I feel that.
Terminator 2, Jurassic Park, and the Matrix had it right. This new era of filming whole movies on a greenscreen though is just :hhh: to me.

Thinking of doing a 90s poll with several of those movies:
Total Recall
Terminator 2
Jurassic Park
Independence Day
Men in Black
The Fifth Element
Starship Troopers
The Matrix
