Peep this old interview with Max interviewing THE GOAT after he beat Ruiz, and the second Tarver fight you can see Max is stanning RJJ hard here, even with the loses. You can also see Roy talking about how crazy some of Roy SR training methods were compared to other fighters.

When i watch these interviews of Roy talking about how his father brought him up...and the type of training methods he had to endure as a youngsta it makes me go :ohhh:

Floyd Sr. put Floyd Jr. thru the ringer as well as a youngin...

It kinda makes sense why we don't produce boxers anywhere near the caliber of Roy & Floyd anymore and probably won't ever again...the type of training methods they were put thru would be considered child abuse today...but those methods were necessary to contributing to their mental & physical development in a sport of this nature...Roy & Floyd may hate their pops for the shyt they were made to go thru as youngins...but they wouldn't be where they are today without it...and it's funny how they can't make the connection and instead of seeing the bigger picture and being thankful...they remain bitter...

I think Floyd's bitterness towards his old man was him selling his mom dope. Floyd loved the gym and working out. Roy's old man would just beat his ass for no reason. I remember Roy saying his old man killed his dog cause it bit his sister. That type of stuff is what made Roy hate his pops.

Floyd thanked his father plenty of times what makes you say that

Roy hates for his father comes from more mental abuse than the physical

The Monday after he beat Ruiz, Max had RJJ on his show on ESPN NY. Hyping the hell outta of potential Tyson fight.
the stupidest mistake Roy ever made was not staying in the Heavyweight division. He had fights in the division: Tyson, Holyfield, Byrd, Toney II. Dude would have some serious money there.
