I LIVE IN A CARDBOARD BOX!
I was just starting to get into rap/hip-hop around 1996/97 so I didn't think much of it at the time if we're being honest. It was only later on that I discovered that many thought it was a Pac diss. :yeshrug:

Again puffy put out that Stop Yappin mixtape diss while pac was alive. Icp dropped Nothin but a bytch Thang right after Slim Anus (eminem) dissed them on his second album so no excuses unless you wanna admit icp are more skilled lyricists than ya boy biggie
The craziest part is when Pac released Hit Em Up I was like yo son is wildin that type of shyt he talking gonna get him hit up. Then he died. Only 3 months later.

I will say though that I think a lot of what BIG said was coached or directed by other real players behind the scenes who used him as a mouthpiece to express their intent towards Pac and his disrespect.

I believe thats the case in alot of scenarios.

biggie used his last kiss lyrics on his last wakeup show freestyle in cali and it was full of 2Pac subliminals that the wolves listening picked up on...'going back to cali' was a single praising cali but then came out these dark lyrics responding to 2Pac...it was a wrap and they killed him after that :francis:

...but yeah, 2Pac was backed in a corner as well signed to suge and he had to diss Biggie to sell records fast to get out his deal...people to this day said that money was the motivator behind Pac dying because he was going to make euthanasia records for up and coming artists and the big corporations were trying to take over and corner the market with just gangsta rap...and it was not because of gangland beef or revenge, etc...record companies to this day still promote ignorant gangsta rap and silo away intelligent lyrics with "the meeting" "The Secret Meeting that Changed Rap Music and Destroyed a Generation"

I listened to that wake up show live that night, and I remember thinking they really letting they feelings out now, because during the fued they were doing a good job of keeping it out they music

Lmao Nikka his scary ass was blaming Biggie, Stretch and Puffy knowing damn well who did it? Why his punk ass wait soooo fukking long to call out the nikkas who actually did it? Why is he dissing a DEAD Stretch accusing him of some shyt he knew Stretch didn’t do? What a cowardly snake :picard: .

Why is he running around with dirty LAPD cops? Ain’t he a fukking Black Panther?
Stretch was alive when Pac recorded Holla At Me and Ambitionz Az A Ridah. That line on Against All Odds wasn't a diss

Biggie recorded it when Pac was alive, what is questionable is if Biggie would of releases it on LAD. Puff had complete control and authority on the vault, sequencing of tracks and final decision on what made it on the final double disc. It could be argued that it may not of been meant for the final album but soon as Big passed Puff moved his album release date up because the fans wanted to hear it and hypnotize was exploding

He references the accident he had which was after Pac died. The truth of the matter is BIG waited till Pac wasn't in the physical form to respond and that speaks volumes on his character, like I already said.

So much revisionism around all of this and loads of whitewashing, if you were there you know. Ya mans own words speak louder than the obfuscation surrounding the events by those still living and wishing to spin his image in another direction.

I knew it was a diss at the time and just shook my head cause I knew someone in the bad boy camp was going to get killed out here

That’s the biggest thing I hate about a lot of these rappers, subliminal disses…

I knew it was shots because of Puff ranting.

But tbh I was too young to be able to articulate the subtleties, subs and straight shots at PAC outside of the obvious ones.

You gotta remember that lines like ‘my team in marine blue’ is easier to connect the dots with the benefit of hindsight. At the time very few (outside of law enforcement, LA bangers and a select few New Yorkers etc) knew of the Zipp, Keefe, Puff, Big, Bad Boy relationship.

I didn't realize that was a Tupac diss. But I was pissed that it didn't make it on the soundtrack of the movie also called "The Long Kiss Goodnight".

I was a month from turning 18. Bittersweet moment in hip hop. LAD was released, but BIG wasn't alive to see it.

shyt, even Pac had less than a yr to enjoy the reception of AEOM
