For those of you who have managed to miss out on both the PlayStation 2 and Nintendo Wii iterations of artsy RPG Okami (Shame on you, by the way), Capcom is giving you one more chance to make amends with the impending launch of Okami HD, set to hit the PlayStation Network this fall for $19.99.
HD remakes are all the rage these days and few games deserve the opportunity to don a fresh coat of paint more than the already gorgeous Okami. Released late last generation, Okami originally flew under a lot of radars, hailed by critics yet ignored by consumers. Featuring a beautiful sumi-e ink art style, Okami puts players in control of Amaterasu, a sun goddess who inhabits the body of a wolf in order to defeat invading demons and return the world to its former beauty.
Capcom has announced that Okami will be given another chance to bask in the spotlight, this time in full HD glory and a 16:9 aspect ratio. Exclusively a digital release, that 20 dollar price tag should help convince the uninitiated to finally take this overlooked RPG for a spin.

This is exactly what an HD remake should be. Releasing collections on disc is great and all, but I love the idea of simply downloading a beloved game with a few enhancements and at a price that won't hurt the wallet.
While Okami HD will be playable with a Dualshock controller, Capcom has also announced support for the PlayStation Move. One of the game's most interesting mechanics is the ability to draw symbols on the screen, thus activating special abilities. Yep, that pretty much sounds like a perfect fit for the move.
If you still aren't convinced that Okami is worth checking out, why not take a look at the above trailer? If you haven't had a change of heart after that, well, I'm going to have to question its existence in the first place.
