The two greatest civil rights leaders of the 20th century, A Phillip Randolph was a union leader of the railroad porters union and MLK Jr. was a Baptist minister - part of a mass membership organization. And then beginning in the 60's and 70s, I won't name names, the way you become a spokesperson for women, LGBTQ, or African Americans or Hispanics is not having this mass organization behind you of members, or winning elections.
