The damage to The Trop due to Hurricane Milton is so bad that repairs won't by done by opening day 2025. They might have to find a new location to play Rays home games for the 2025 season.

I always wanted NC to have a MLB team, if it was up to me I would bush the idea if building a new ballpark for the Rays in Tampa Bay and build a new stadium in ethier Charlotte or Raleigh/Durham area.

I don't blame them moving from Tampa to NC, NC has better weather to me. I like the cool weather during the fall and winter


The heat in FL is Yes, NC gets hot as well as does every state on the eastern side of U.S but that FL heat is something else


As someone whose been living in Tampa for a month now IMO it feels like the Rays are 3rd fiddle with the Bucs being number 1 and the Lighting (NHL team) being number 2. The Rays in Tampa might be the most irrelevant team in their city in the major four sports in the U.S I feel like if the Rays permanently left Tampa residents would be like

I heard about this over a week ago. Canes owner has already let it be known he's lobbying for an expansion team, the governor supports an expansion team in The R too. So this would be a great showcase, I could potentially have MLB in both my cities next year, we already know the A's in Sac for 3 years...

Let Raleigh get our shine on, the Rays would play in Durm but it would showcase us as a region and a hypothetical expansion team would be in the city...

Roof of the dome came off and was flapping like a toupee wearer in a convertible. It was obvious they were going to play somewhere else temporarily but I really don't hope they move permanently. Florida baseball is already on life support. If the Marlins are the only team then it'll die completely outside of spring training games.

Surprised I didn't hear about this earlier. DBAP is a solid park, but it would be just as hard to generate any home field advantage. So many transplants in the Triangle who root for other teams, it may as well be a season long road trip. When they play the Yanks and Red Sox, forget about it.
