Yeah you right, what the NBA and future players accomlished using the Olympics as a springboard was completely unnecessary and all gains were completely by coincidence.

:mjlol:

I meant for CC and Reese specifically.

You can't compare the NBA using the Olympics to the WNBA. The NBA was already established domestically and then MJ and the Dream Team took it global. The WNBA is just now starting to get buzz domestically.

Again CC and Reese wouldn't even see the court so having them ride the bench does little for promotion. The next go round the league should be way bigger and they'll be starters. That's when they can have the most impact not when they won't play.

Cool to see them get a road win against a decent team. I think putting copper on caitlin was a double edged sword for phoenix. Its the same reason flaujae couldnt have realistically done both in the tournament this year

CC is turnover prone/a poor defender

and if you watch the games, at least half of those turnovers are because her teammates can't handle the pass. sure, some are definitely on her (like a couple of early ones today), but the vast majority of them are because the other girls can't make the play.

also, the whole "poor defender" argument is terribly flawed. she's averaging 1.5 steals per game and 1 block per game ... she may not be the best defender, but she certainly isn't a "poor defender".

She can definitely be disruptive, but she suffers from what Luka and a lot of other white stars suffer from — slow foot speed. Against players that are decently quick, she'll often get blown-by. Her saving grace is that she has good defensive instincts, so she'll never be a truly poor defender.

In other words, her man defense is trash, but her team defense has potential.

Honestly, she's a very low motor type of player. There were a few instances today where she got blown-by just to linger way behind her defender instead of at least attempting to contest the shot from behind.

That's how your bigs get into foul trouble.

* Indiana just beat a team that has 3 Olympians and all defensive PG

* Last week LaChina said she's giving Angel the advantage for ROY because her team was in the playoffs. Does that argument now apply to Clark...Her team is currently in the playoffs.

* Indy is 3 games better than they were at the same time last season

The Sky beat a Liberty team that has 2 Olympians, 2 former MVPs (including the reigning MVP), 2 all stars from last year. The Fever are only a game up because they won and the Sky lost today. They might again after next games when Indy plays Vegas and Chicago plays the Dream.

Also, LaChina’s argument for Reese is that Clark came to a team with all stars, a #1 pick and TWO #2 picks that were on the team a year ago (similar to how Vegas stacked back to back to back #1 picks). The Sky don’t have any all stars and they have a totally new team from last year.
