I'm not ignorant of this. That is one of the reasons I sought out an MBA. I handle finance for a healthcare company. I'm in charge of making sure we get paid. I won't even front, I got the job on chance as I was actually the second choice, even with my MBA in healthcare management. Same thing with me and teaching, pure chance. That said, I prepare myself. Believing in luck is a misnomer, you make your luck, your own way. Hard work and preparation when it meets opportunity is your luck. You have to make it for yourself. The late nights of writing papers about Medicare and other things got me to the door step for my day to day gig for the interview, everything else was on me.
