That's the million dollar question...

Assad is a piece of shyt and has used chemical weapons before...

But why now when he's got the war all but officially won?

The only ones who benefit from foreign intervention are the rebels, Assads got the war wrapped up...So why would Assad use these weapons now when he's got the war all but officially won with Cheeto just a week ago saying he's pulling US troops out?

It make no sense to me...

:patrice:
If chemical weapons are being used, then something needs to be done.

But as we have seen in the past, whenever the West helps a group of rebels in the end it always comes to bite us in the ass

And France and UK is stupid as hell for joining in on this, you know ISIS is ready to call their people and take action on their countries. And with their stupid FBI's shyt is gonna happen

I think what just happened here is that Assad got played by Putin. He kept acting like Putin was his friend.

This is gonna be very interesting

The reality that folks in the west probably don't want to admit despite Assad using chemical weapons is that the most humane thing to do at the moment is leave Assad in power and reclaim the country without further intervention. No one has plans for a post Assad Syria. The country is too dysfunctional to try and engage in another nation buiding project.

Until someone can tell me who would rule Syria after Assad and convince me it won't be a violence ridden anarchy hellhole, I won't think differently. Assad is the only government and institution that can bring some stability back to the country.

Dying from chemicals is indeed an awful death but years of wanton violence in killings, rape, atrocities, and bombs with lack of a government structure to check it sounds a bit more inhumane in the long-term. Combine that with different groups adding more violence in a vye for power. It reminds me of Japan and WW2 where the more novel weapon of the Atomic bomb is definitely noteworthy for it's novelty but the fact more people were burned to death by firebombs by the US than both bombs combined gets less play .

Damn brehs. This is nothing but a way to help the rebels recruit future terrorists. This is sad as hell man
At this point that is our foreign policy strategy. We help the recruitment and buildup of extremist groups so that we can use them to destabilize nations opposed to our interest
