Re-Watched 13 Assassins again the other day. Still one of my favorite Takashi Miike films.

man ive always been into old 70's/shaw brothers/ classic kung fu joints but recently ive been liking these samurai joints. im trying to run through akira kurosawa's whole filmography. ive seen seven samurai, ran, and kagemusha so far and they are all AMAZING. now i see why akira is most directors favorite director. dude is a genius.

theres a movie on netflix called "Twilight Samurai" thats next on my list of samurai movies to watch. its not from akira but its supposed to be really good. was nominated for best foreign language film.

When Kikuchiyo died I was . My nikka went out like a g though. It was so sudden, right after Kyuzo gets hit by a gotdamn bullet.

Looks like Toshiro Mifune is in a lot of these movies he was my favorite in Seven Samurai. Looking forward to watching Throne of Blood next.
