Both were thought to never be the same after Major Surgeries (Mannings neck, Petersons MCL/ACL) but both came out as the premier players in the nfl's 2012 season. Manning came in prime form and lead the broncos to the playoffs with a 13-3 record and their second straight AFC west title.

Peterson had the best year of his career and arguably the best for a nfl RB, coming 8 yards away from Eric dikkersons single season rushing record with 31 less carries. He lead the vikings to playoffs with a breakout performance against the packers in week 17, setting up a rematch with their rivals in saturdays NFC wild card game.

Petersen even tho Manning had a GREAT year too. Most folks thought Peyton should retire coming into this season & keep in mind he was barely throwing the ball with any strength this offseason. So Peyton had a remarkable season, but AP lifted a lottery squad to the playoffs strictly off of being the best player on the field week in & week out. AP deserves it

i picked peterson for the simple fact the vikings had no passin game so most teams were mostly preparing to deal with peterson and they still couldnt stop him. this year he had was just too damn impressive, i really hope he gets it
