just copped my Surface in the mail today and the unit so far is fukking AMAZING! I preordered so my unit came bright and early this morning. All in all I have to say I'm thoroughly impressed so far. The device consists of a high quality metal frame, and both the kick stand and the touch cover keyboard are of excellent quality.
As far as Windows RT is concerned, the app store is definitely lacking currently, but the OS itself is a pleasure to use. Hell, even in desktop mode it runs silky smooth, and Im am able to easily access my external sd card as well as my networked NAS storage device as if I were using a regular full blown windows. Furthermore, the browser on this thing is essentially a fully functional version of internet explorer. No more gimped internet over here people.
I also went by the M$ store in my city to cop an type cover keyboard and the store was crazy packed. They had a line wrapped around the mall with people in line for a surface. I witnessed numerous people trying it out, then immediately getting in line to purchase one. Check out this pic:
Overall im thoroughly impressed with the device so far and im sure with the proper app support, this thing will do phenomenally well. It really is the perfect marriage between laptop and PC. I'll post a video review of the device later this weekend for those that are interested.
