alright Coli posters. Another year, another Hip Hop Grammy's thread from your homie Ziggiy.
In the past, I have slammed the Grammy's Ceremony for what I have felt is their unfair, uninformed, and ungenuine portrayal of the Genre. In a world where Eminem, Caclemore, and Drake have won more Grammys than Nas, Snoop Dogg, and 2Pac as representatives of the best that the genre has to offer, then something's WRONG. Of course, we all understand that the Grammy's are basically a popularity contest, and that as fans of Hip Hop, we now expect the fly by night artists, the ones who the academy feel the most comfortable promoting (the ones with white skin I.e. Eminem) or the ones they Simply CANNOT ignore (Kanye West) to be given trophies.
So if we ALL know this, any make the thread? I bytched a FIT in 2013 when Nas was shut out for his fantastic Life Is Good Album. I also, rather vocally, lamented Kendrick Lamar being the victim of highway robbery in 2014 by the Great White Hope's Caclemore and Ryan Cacless. The latter was such a pure moment of disgust for me that I didn't even bother to watch last year's ceremony. I'm sure @Abogado, whom I have had many a debate with in the past regarding this very subject, is looking at this post like
. But fukk it, this year the most nominated artist is indeed a Hip Hop artist, who is is also up for Album Of The Year and Song Of The Year. Also, many OTHER deserving Hip Hop artists including J.Cole, Common, And Dr. Dre are up for awards that night. So without further ado we have our Hip Hop nominations
