They should call Israel's bluff and show the world how butch they are

Instead of butchering defenseless Sunni women and children attack Israel and the US fleet

Really show the world that you're the superior religion and culture

I was reading up on Syria and why Assad has been so quiet.

At least according to some he’s using this as an opportunity to engage with the larger Middle East. He’s more worried about rebels taking advantage if he concentrated on attacking Israel or allowing Iran to fully engage from across the border.

The really serious point was that Syrian military would be happy for Iran to pull out. This was before the Lebanon situation so we will see how this affects things

will this force Iran's hand?
The hold your own nuts mantra goes both ways though. Iran can afford to lose Lebanon in the near term.

Iran is geographically protected from Israel ground forces and vice versa.

The only troops at immediate risk are our American bases in the region.

Iran isn't about to attack our troops and Hezbollah reeling off of a historic one week loss isn't about to invite the top military in the world into the lobby.

Factually speaking, none of these groups want peace nor do they want a full blown protrscted ground invasion.

We've seen this before. :russell:

Can they afford to lose Lebanon permanently? What about Syria?

I wouldn't be surprised if the Arabs gave more than a passing thumbs up to Israel's current actions btw.

Yeah, Iran is geographically isolated. I'm sure the Iranians and Hezbollah thought they were safe in Masyaf. That Haniyeh was safe in Tehran... anyone else nearly forget about that already?

Frankly if(when) Iran loses a ground war to Afghanistan within the next 25 years I won't be surprised.

Iran might as well attack the US then their great satan. The sanctions are never going to be lifted by the US or Europe and the price of their oil is never going to increase. Roll the dice and hope they don't get blown back to a century before Christ. They don't have an air force and they don't have a navy. You're aware of that right?

There was a time when I felt like Iran was getting a raw deal but they're now rightly considered an international pariah who engages in genocide, ethnic cleansing, fuels conflicts with their weapons, and rapes and murders their own citizens.

Hope they enjoy their future of being a vassal state of China

Same people making the multipolarity argument in support of Russia and China are making the world will be peaceful if Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iran have a larger footprint in the middle east.

The common theme is clear.
