Fast on the heels of an approved event request to the Nevada boxing commission, the much-ballyhooed meeting between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor is set to go down.

Citing a “well-placed source,” Yahoo! Sports reporter Kevin Iole today wrote that the bout will take place Aug. 26 in Las Vegas, the date approved by the Nevada State Athletic Commission for an event at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Iole said the boxing match will either take place at MGM or T-Mobile Arena, though the date is occupied by The BIG3 Championship Finals on the latter’s schedule.

ESPN's Dan Rafael reported Tuesday that Mayweather Promotions planned to ask the commission for an Aug. 26 date to promote a boxing match that was expected to be the showdown between Mayweather and McGregor.

Last month, UFC President Dana White announced McGregor signed his half of the contract for the proposed superfight and that negotiations with Mayweather could begin.

Mayweather still hasn't signed his side of the deal that would make the fight official. The 40-year-old undefeated multi-division champion hasn't fought since beating Andre Berto in September 2015.

you wouldn't entertain your highest pay ever, for a 12 rounder vs a guy who probably won't put your career in any danger. I'd fight Floyd for $300 bucks, because while he'd soundly beat me, there's no danger in getting my face battered in.
