This narrative gotta stop.
Infinite didn't fail because it didn't have X-Men characters. Infinite failed because it's ugly as FUKK
Were nikkas upset about no X-Men? Of course. But it wasn't a huge make or break deal if the game turned out aestheticallypleasing
Infinite is ugly and looks sloppy in neutral(no fault of the players because the game mechanics lend much to the sloppy presentation). Those are two enormous thing to consider.
Shame because infinite is one of the more complex fgs I've ever seen
Conversely DBFZ is very linear(that shyt boring bruh) but is BEAUTIFUL and the fighting looks like you're watching DBZ
Presentation is everything
Capcom can't seem to avoid going in the wrong direction, especially the versus series. It's been all downhill since 2. Main SF, it's been a mixed bag, but it covers the bases gameplay wise.
I have DBZF, but for a bunch of reasons, I've only played it once. Watched it a ton. It needs a push block move, and more varied character archetypes. I also think the engine is too good for it's own good. People aren't discovering things really. Unlike MVC2, where people were still exploring the engine and such almost a decade in. That game will never change outside of patches, and that's not a good thing.
