Titanfall 3 was gonna drop in 2018 but ea felt that it would feel dated so it'll probably be on frostbite engine that battlefield uses. It'll probably look great

I hate FPSs but Titanfall 2 was GOAT status on so many levels. Kinda gassed for this, Respawn are a top tier dev.

Between this and their upcoming Star Wars game it could be a good year for them, shame EA enveloped them

Why would it be with no titans?
That would be huge in setting this game apart from the COD BLOPS Blackout mode.
Battle Royale with the titan mechanics would definitely work especially with how well balanced the game is with pilots being able to take titans down with relative ease.
If anything, dropping a titan would be a risky move since it would broadcast your location to everyone pretty obviously.

The titanfall games were commercial flops. Wouldn't make any business sense to make a Titanfall 3. No ones interested. They're in an odd spot though because:
The military shooter genre is dead due to oversaturation of CoD/Battlefield
Futuristic shooters are dead as evidenced by the decline in Halo, and people's extreme displeasure with Infinity Warfare
Hero-based team shooters popularized by Overwatch/Team Fortress are dead (but OW itself is still alive oddly)
And people are becoming tired of the whole battle royale thing. Cliffy B tried and but his game failed miserably.

They (EA/Spawn) need to try something new instead of piggybacking on a dying trend.

I don't play FPSs/BRs at all so don't take this as caping but on your first point OW & Paladins are making bank so not sure you can call the genre dead. While to your second, the biggest game in the world by far is a BR game while the best selling console game was BR, don't think people are getting tired of it

One game being very popular doesn't mean the genre is not dead. Folks argue that JRPGs are dead despite Final Fantasy still being very popular. You also have the death of 3D platformers despite Mario Odyssey selling 10 million units.

Well other folks are seeing its decline:

Fortnite's Popularity On Twitch Has Drastically Declined
'Fortnite' Twitch Viewership Begins Its Decline
Are we finally seeing the decline of Fortnite?
'Fortnite' Finally Showing Signs of Slowing Down

What genre's 'hot' then? if by your assertion Fortnite/BRs dead, despite all evidence to the contrary
