I don't play FPSs/BRs at all so don't take this as caping but on your first point OW & Paladins are making bank so not sure you can call the genre dead. While to your second, the biggest game in the world by far is a BR game while the best selling console game was BR, don't think people are getting tired of itHero-based team shooters popularized by Overwatch/Team Fortress are dead (but OW itself is still alive oddly)
And people are becoming tired of the whole battle royale thing. Cliffy B tried and but his game failed miserably.
They (EA/Spawn) need to try something new instead of piggybacking on a dying trend.

What genre's 'hot' then? if by your assertion Fortnite/BRs dead, despite all evidence to the contraryOne game being very popular doesn't mean the genre is not dead. Folks argue that JRPGs are dead despite Final Fantasy still being very popular. You also have the death of 3D platformers despite Mario Odyssey selling 10 million units.
