BROOKLYN — The death of Shaniesha Forbes has been ruled a homicide, almost four months after the 14-year-old's naked, burned body was found in Gerritsen Beach.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled Thursday that Forbes died of homicidal asphyxiation, officials said. The autopsy results were first reported by The New York Times.

But the teen wasn't pregnant, the city's medical examiner confirmed, leaving her shattered family members railing against the "senseless" crime.
