Her sister was the first black woman to integrate the University of Alabama.

When Gov. Wallace stood in the door at Alabama to block the black students from entering the school, her sister was one of the students he was blocking.





And she herself was in the documentary Slavery By Another Name which talks about how the US transferred the slavery system to the prison system and how her uncles were impacted by that process down in Alabama.

Funny how the family is so light you gotta pull receipts to make sure tho. Both married black I guess, but the pairing certainly didn't move the needle in terms of getting rid of some of that cac DNA.
