will use to get you riled up and support a ridiculous campaign?

or are you still being mesmerized by trivial, sensual things?

I'm not sure, but I remember thinking during the KONY campaign that social media is kind of scary. Millions of people can be mobilized and tricked into doing all types of things if it starts trending on YT and twitter.

arm chair revolutionaries and clicktivism are the new cool shyt to do

Yeah...and what's funny is that none of these people aren't doing a damn thing in their own area, yet wanna act as if they're contributing to some massive international cause just by liking some shyt on facebook or sending links. So fukking pretentious. :snoop:

That KONY 2012 bullshyt was one of the most ridiculous gimmicks I've ever witnessed in social media and people just lapped that shyt up like a cat with a bowl of milk.

People @ my job were mad when I said I didn't watch the video because I knew it was the okie doke. And that I found it interesting that suddenly people cared about african opression and that they wouldn't in a month.

Didn't even last that long...saw it miles away

white folks at my job were looking all types of stupid once it came out how much that dude made off that shyt...and the "mental breakdown" in public.

nikkas aint gonna give a bum a dollar, but copping Tee's and stickers and changing they facebook profile pic for some africans cause "they need the help"

You know, this whole time, I never really paid attention to the KONY shyt. Anybody have cliffnotes on everything around it?

As for as revolutions and armchair clicktivists, and im just gonna add that wallstreet kumbaya, I think this is all a result of America just lettin everybody get lazy as fukk. I mean, when was the last time a group of people got together and achieved some form of change by the government, whether it be a real as march or an all out riot?

It's more about people feeling like they did something, when all they did was click a button or copy a link... shyt, people feel like they've accomplished something just cause they support someone doing something.

vicarious living is something that's too common in our society.

last time it happened was the LA Riots, a lot of people aren't really about that true activist life.

What's scary is that this made it all the way to the government and they were commenting on it.

Seeing all these KONY posters, tshirts, Youtube views, links, etc. all of a sudden was :wtf:

I think it shows how much of a trend jumping culture we've become and also how we're so delusional as to just thinking we can throw money at such problems.

Also it shows how disconnected we are from reality and whats going on in the rest of the world that we rely on what someone else says instead of reading for ourselves.

Another thing is, that dude who did the doc was supposedly married with kids, but yet he spoke and acted queer as folk.
