I’ve read that Mac Dre looked to Shock G’s vocal delivery as an influence when he reinvented/reinvigorated his style preceding his contributions to the ‘Thizz Era’/hyphy movement. I asked Shock G about this on an IG Live and he responded noting that Slick Rick’s delivery was the origin of this influence ….and I would add, in the same way that MC Shan’s voice influenced Eazy-E which inevitably influenced DJ Quik’s rapping voice. It’s a shame we didn’t get any collaborations between the two. Seems like a match made in heaven but collaborations up there must be 🎶🤯🙌
