not using your mic cause your girl is sleeping

me and my girl live together, small apartment...kinda like a studio.
no real wall between the bedroom and the living room where my PC is set up for gaming.

if i'm gaming when she is in bed, using the mic is status.
fukking sucks.
every other place we have lived together was huge and i was able to have my man cave so i could talk all the shyt i wanted.

anybody else going though this?

Here's some real advice, from someone who has voluntarily lived with the opposite sex:

insulate the walls better (yeah, it's costly, but it's a project that's worth it)
get used to talking at a lower tone (which usually works, but not in intense gaming situations)
or just manage

I can't tell you how many folks I've played with that message me with talking about "can't use mic, girl's asleep." Nothing really wrong with that. Better off playing "on mute" than not playing at all...

I was like that for a good while, then I moved into a much bigger place. Sounds like you're renting the studio, you'll probably have to just deal with it, because you seemingly have very little ability to adjust to it.
