Going to see this tonight. They have a Q & A afterwards with David Carr. THis is through Gofobo (if you thinking I'm :duck: I can provide the link). Not sure how it'll be but I'm sure the Q & A should be good.

Didn't know what to expect but this was a dope film. Not saying it will win an Oscar but its definitely that type of genre they like

After blind clicking the trailer I was surprised. Even though it looks like the son is teh main character, being written and directed by Chase I bet Tony got a lot of screen time. looks good plus my dude Harrow is in it, didn't recognize him with the other half of his face.

How much time was devoted to being on stage/on the road?

Tony kills it. Plays a bigoted out of touch Italian father. They not a band who made it so they not on the road like that. It's more local playing and trying to make a demo. I don't boardwalk but Chase was saying Harrow is the opposite in this. Outgoing. This is the first film Chase directed he said

Thanks, that's what I was hoping for. One more thing, is this review :lawd: or :shaq2:
David Chase's anticipated Not Fade Away not only jumbles itself into an indulgent story, constantly keeping the audience at an arm's length but it's overly stretched and uneven not utilizing the strong talents in the film like James Gandolfini, Jack Huston, and John Magaro. A natural comparison to Almost Famous (2000), the film doesn't hold a candle to Cameron Crowe's homage to music. Showcasing outstanding music of the 1960′s and 1970′s, Chase manages to capture moments of the young adolescent mind longing to be more. Lead Magaro delivers a character transformation of mind and body, a turn that elevates the film considerably. The great Jack Huston, an actor that will likely be one of the biggest things in Hollywood any minute now, delivers an aggressive supporting turn reminiscent of Channing Tatum's work in A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints (2006). Bella Heathcote shows tenderness and promise but undervalued and virtually unused. James Gandolfini, stands out with charisma and garners much of the big laughs. A great character actor like Gandolfini should be given room to move. The film ultimately fails because it never feels like Chase knows his film or where he wants it to go. The last twenty minutes feel unneeded, unearned, and thrown together for an "artistic" catalyst with no emotional or technical effect whatsoever. A large disappointment.

That review some merit. My main problem with it is that it has too many storylines. Chase even said there were some characters back stories he wanted to get into but had to cut it out because time. Music wise they couldn't cover the classic rock songs during that time. So a lot of the music is underwhelming because the hit songs cost a million dollar to clear. Which is crazy to mr but anyway. With that said its still a funny movie, no wack acting, nice characters. It's worth seeing despite flaws.

Cool, sounds like he should've said fukk it and made it a miniserise so he could delve into backstories. I'll give it a watch if it's at a theater near me. Thanks man.
