I liked the musical (Just saw the 25th anniversary show in Chicago two weeks ago...for a second time), and given that, hearing that the singing in this movie is subpar, I might catch this on DVD. The performances in the stage play are hard to compare to if you're not a professional stage performer/singer.

For those who are against musicals because its typically thought of as being for I think Les Miserables is one you can make an exception for brehs. Hearing songs like "Do you hear the people sing" makes me want to pick up a rifle and fight for freedom in some open plain and shyt.

I watched it the other day. I don't like musicals. This felt more like an opera than a musical though(however, unlike an opera you can actually understand what the fukk they're singing). No dancing and flamboyant costumes and the music is actually fantastic. The first song is so damn powerful At least 10 times better than the performances I heard on YouTube.
