During the evening Mass at the prison for young people, Pope Francis washed the feet of 12 young people of different nationalities and faiths, including at least two Muslims, who are housed at the juvenile detention facility.

In light of everything that has happened with youngsters in the Catholic church, I can see how the Pope's act could be interpreted that way.

HEre's why i'm saying this MIGHT be important...particularly if you think the church has a significant sway on people...which a lot of people in here do as the church get's blamed for damn near everything.

SO humility in terms of the christian faith is a BIG thing. (the last shall be first and such...) most people don't live by this, particularly christians. If this cat continues like this by setting this type of example we may be looking at a paradigm shift towards service, rather than the fingerpointing "i'm holier" attitude the current church has.

At first I was thinking it was primarily pomp... but as I continued to read about why he did it, I'm beginning to think this could be big.
