Jang Dong-Gun who was the biggest Korean and one of biggest Asian actors in the early 2000's was in every Korean blockbuster and gained U.S. attention and starred in "Warriors Way" which bombed terribly in the movies and was trashed by the critics. He returned to his roots to play other unnoticeable films until "My Way" in 2011 which was a epic war film( great flick) but bombed in the Asian market. This time he dropped a film by director Lee Jeong-Beom who directed "Man from Nowhere" but this time adds English actors in the mix of the story-line. The film blends Korean and English into the film well as some of the Korean actors could speak both.
The film starts out in the first 10 mins leaving the audience an appetizer of what the action and story is. The film slows to build character development but doesn't bore you where you lose interest. The film picks up speed as the story opens up more and the action gets extremely intense. If you are expecting alot of bodies and blood, this film is for you. Let's say it like this, the apartment scene is the best shoot-out scene is recent memory. Expect hand to hand combat and realistic shoot-outs through the last 20 mins of the film. The film scenery and color speak to you based off the mood of the story-line at the time which is really good. It really looks like a Hollywood director filmed it.
