Now it's finally the game that was supposed to drop at release

As far as post release updates, No Man Sky has been one of the best. However, all they are doing is fulfilling the original promise of the game. So, it's a wash in the end.
There are layers to these answers. Biases and whatnot. Yes, changes have been made but NO, the changes do not fulfill the previous vision. Not even close.

A non related point that is very interesting is how a game like Halo:mcc (which fixed itself months after release) was deemed too late by lots of biased posters. But that never made sense to me because those were already old games. So if you desired to play those old games at launch, you'd still want to play them whenever they did get it right.

In this games case, it promised a vision where you would explore worlds and run into random people in random galaxies while you explore the universe :blessed:

Astronomer, Xbox live game preview, go cop that today :birdman:

I bought the game a few months back because of the hyped base building update sale. Eh, it has it's moments. Coming from Elite Dangerous which feels like a more chilled game, NMS is alright but just....eh:ld:.

Just because I made an observation doesn't mean I care  only person who is saying what you was saying is you. I pointed that out, feathers got ruffled :russ: Had nothing to do with Xbox vs Sony, has everything to do with Sony gamers hyping up Sony regardless of quality of the final product, Then still holding out hope when it doesn't deliver. I could name a Sony game and you'll remember it being hyped as great on here.

Doesn't that ever get old to you :mindblown:
Killzone, Driveclub, ps now, horizon, the order, resogun, no man's sky. All have decent elements to them but all was being touted as better than sliced bread. A pattern is being repeated here is all I'm saying, if you see it or not is irrelevant

i bought the game cause i love the thought of space exploration... it was pretty cool to get high and roam around and shyt... then i got other games

as i said i didn't even play the shyt since then... so i must not have been hyped and definitely not overhyped

then i was going to sell the game.. further showing i could care less.. i just searched to see what they updated... and posted it on the coli like nikkas do

here you come running in to ask me why i'm the only person who cares?? if YOU don't care, why in a game thread a year old, for a game you don't care about, for a system you don't own, to read about the updates, to ask me why i care, when i stated the exact reason why i posted :sas2:

Hello Games, the developer behind space exploration title No Man’s Sky, announced today that the game's largest update ever will arrive later this summer alongside a launch on the Xbox One. Details about the update, which the company is referring to as No Man’s Sky NEXT, are scarce. It will be free, like previous updates such as last year’s Atlas Rises, which introduced planetary quick-travel, land vehicles, and base building. But beyond that, we don’t know what the update will involve.

“We called this update NEXT, because it’s an important next step on a longer journey for us and the community,” writes Hello Games co-founder Sean Murray. “We’ve been working our socks off on this and it’s by far our biggest update so far. It will be free to existing players, and we’ll continue to support No Man’s Sky in this way for the foreseeable future.”

post-launch controversy surrounding unmet player expectations and now roughly 18 months post-release, at a time when No Man’s Skyis in much more robust shape. We don’t know what NEXT will deliver, but Hello Games has built up an impressive track record for keeping its universe simulator alive. So whatever the update brings will likely be another significant shift for the constantly evolving product.

Murray included a few screenshots with the announcement, but we’ll have to wait until a later date to get more concrete details on what to expect.
