Was wondering.

Why are vegetable oil and crude oil both considered "oil". Technically, not no ABC analogies (read: smart dumb nikka shyt).

Yes I COULD just Google it, but can somebody break it down off the dome, no Google.

Challenge. Honor system.

Norfeast groovin…
Crude is a raw material from fossil fuels which have gone under millions of years of transformation. But lots of things out here make oil, you can make oil out of hemp seeds or peanuts breh. I dunno the specifics of the molecules involved tho.

carbon is a very versatile element. it can combine in ways that make totally different substances even if they're similar in some respects

:ehh: Because they are both viscous long chain hydrocarbons that have some properties and uses in common like lubrication and flammability
