There are increasing signs that Williams, the most coveted free agent on this summer's market, will stay put. He has been working out almost daily at the Nets' practice facility, often going through shooting drills with Johnson. Sources say he has also discussed strategies for next season with Johnson.

Williams is not planning to visit or meet with any teams once the league allows clubs to begin recruiting players on July 1, sources said.

Deron Williams will be a free agent on Sunday, officially, because GM Billy King because he didn't opt into the final year of his contract by the deadline. Sooner rather than later, Mark Cuban will give Williams a call. But King said he isn't concerned. "Because that's the process, that Mark Cuban will call him. End of day, he's going to play here or he's going to play some place else. I think we've done everything, prepared everything. He's got a great building. So everything is mapped out. He sees what we have. He sees what they have. And he's got to make a decision. ...It doesn't worry me, because we're prepared. We've done our work and the ultimate goal is to have him playing, opening the Barclays Center next season.
