Haven’t seen a more impactful trade since Spreewell
Leon Rose at (or around) the trade deadline is batting 1000 with a crazy slugging percentage to boot.

He got D-Rose, which took them to the playoffs. Then he got Josh Hart, which was a huge boost. Finally, he grabs OG for his biggest hit yet. That's three massive upgrades.

Also traded Grimes and Fournier for Bogi and Burks which ended up netting them Mikal

Grimes is actually playing well, but both OG and Mikal was part of making the team bigger.

Which based on these Twitter post we’re seeing a lot of rewriting of history here, that makes it seem like the old team was scrubs. A lot of the issue was bad fits and the team was skilled but small and that became to much to ignore during a game with Orlando where they just beat the crap out of the Knicks due to their size and skill. RJ, IQ, and Grimes are all SG but would play PG, SF, and PF if Randle was out. They had Hart another SG playing backup PF.

Leon fixed that, first with OG and then Mikal.

Then last summer cap issues came up and it’s clear the Knicks knew they had to build a team that could win. IHart left and around the league teams were trying to extort them for backup centers with starter potential.

The reason the Knicks are where they are no is Brunson took a massive pay cut so the Knicks could either keep IHart/Randle or trade for KAT.

They got a great 5 out lineup with good size with Hart at the 2, Mikal, at the three and OG at the 4, but right now I really like the potential for Mitch coming back and them having a really big traditional 5 lineup. A lineup of Brunson/Mikal/OG/KAT/Mitch matches well with two big lineup in the league and helps with the depth cause not Hart moves to the bench. They got to stay healthy, keep building chemistry, but you look around the league I think they can wreck anyone.

Don’t even get me started on their future with that Dadiet kid who looks about as good as most the rookies this year but limited minutes. If he turns out right I think they could already have the long term backup PF.
