Not sure how anyone could debate this not being the greatest song Pac ever released. Dave Hollister on the hook, and a sample of Zapp’s “Be Alright” released in 1980, a timeless track itself.

This is the best verse I’ve ever heard from Stretch, I think the singing in the background fits perfectly, then of course you’ve got the classic third verse from Pac. This song has a sample from Earl Klugh’s “Living Inside Your Love” released in 1976. You hear the sample :13 second in and again around 2:36, 3:34, 4:36-end of song.

Honorable Mentions:

When he says “wanted for investigations” threw me off and could mean pretty much anything. I know it’s petty but that shyt just sounds dumb to me for some reason. Incredible song tho. Sample from J-Flexx “Free Em All’ off the Gang Related soundtrack released a month apart in 97’.

This last one only has one Pac verse but is classic. Another flawless verse from Stretch, this has one of my favorite Pac opening lines, and Mopreme closes it out with vivid story telling over that haunting instrumental featuring a sample from Michael White’s “Reiko” that came out in 1974.

Even though I have plenty of Pac's favourite songs (my name is not one of them lol), I'd say that his second verse of "Pain" just goes straight into the soul...

"until they kill me I'll be livin' this life..."

All of his eras were dope because he was his art. Every song had pieces of his real life inserted into the topics and thats what made him a legend. That and his songs just had so much substance and were saturated with emotional honesty.

It's either that or So Many Tears. I'm gonna go with the OP. Also I remember in HS/college, when more people had shytty headphones, it was one of those songs you could immediately tell someone was listening to it due to the way the bass is so recognizable.
