Nintendo Switch Owners, what's the best long-term purchase: ARMS or Splatoon 2?

Been talking with my squad about this. We're all getting the Switch this holiday season and want some games we can play together.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is already gonna be an established grab, but we want one more. What's the better game between Splatoon 2 and ARMS?

Splatoon 2.

As a Wii U owner Splatoon was my most played game....even more than Smash.

Splatoon 2 regularly gets updates (new maps, weapons) and events (splatfest).

Arms is great for local multiplayer. If you have friends over all the time.

Get Mario Odyssey. You and your friends will have more fun tryna beat the game the fastest, get the most moons and every outfit.

I honestly haven't played Splatoon 2 in months. I just never gave it much burn but it's a good game I just got swamped with other games. ARMS I never bought.

The player base is just much, much bigger and constantly growing.
That being said, in terms of playing with friends, it's actually easier to play with friends in ARMS. You all need to be in the same mode in Splatoon 2 and if you're playing ranked you need to be around the same rank as well.
Arms also has 4 player local multiplayer on one console. You can even go online with 2 people per console.
Splatoon 2 is one player per console.
