Nicki Minaj Lands ABC Family Sitcom About Her Life

Nicki Minaj is taking her career to the next level: she just landed herself a sitcom about her life on ABC Family.

The 32-year-old "Anaconda" singer and rapper will be an executive producer and appear in the half-hour scripted comedy that starts filming this winter in her hometown, Queens, New York,Deadline reports. It follows her and her "vibrant immigrant family" after they immigrated from Trinidad to the U.S. in the early '90s, and shows her life pre-stardom, according to ABC. The untitled ABC Family sitcom will be written by Kate Angelo (Sex Tape).

"This is one of the more unique adventures I’ve ever embarked on," Minaj said in a statement. "I couldn’t be more proud and excited to team up with an amazing group of people to give the world something really special."
