Television ratings for the NFL rose 5% from 2017 to 2018, the league announced Wednesday.

Average viewership for NFL games averaged 15.8 million viewers during the 2018 regular season, excluding London broadcasts. Additionally, average digital streaming viewership for all games was up 86% from last year.

The NFL dominated television viewership, claiming 46 of the top 50 telecasts during the regular season. The most-viewed game of the campaign was the Week 12 matchup between the Reskins and Cowboys on Thanksgiving, which drew 30.5 million viewers.

The NFL particularly shined during its primetime broadcasts this past season.

Thursday Night Football broadcasts averaged 14.9 million viewers, an uptick of 4% from last year's reported viewership. Sunday Night Football averaged 19.3 million viewers, which marked an increase of 6%. Monday Night Football broadcasts garnered 11.6 million viewers, signaling an 8% growth from 2017.

The NFL also saw its viewership during Sunday afternoon games also improve. FOX averaged 18 million viewers during its broadcasts, marking a 2% increase. Meanwhile, CBS averaged 16.5 million viewers, which was up 6% from last year's average.

It was a better product this year. More exciting games, teams, matchups, players, etc. Also it seemed like there were fewer injuries to star players (not sure about that one just a gut feeling). Also bet the MAGAts were satisfied regarding “the anthem” stuff.

Refs still ruined a lot of games but overall the product was better this year in my opinion. There were a lot of reasons the ratings took a hit last year but I truly believe the actual product wasn’t as good and that had a big effect

The parity within the AFC has been amazing to watch. Our playoffs finna be lit. Rivers chasing after his first ring, 21 year old rookie QB in Lamar making it to the postseason, Mahomes MVP (Will the Chiefs break their home game curse?), Luck and his CPOTY campaign, etc.

It's anyone's game really.....New England had a good run but I'm feeling like a change of the guard is imminent here. Patriots could very well end back up in the SB, but you can't help but feel like we're near the end of the dynasty.

just a lil spark of gamebreakers ability at qb

go ahead kick down the doors

if your qb can't break a 90yd housecall on any snap with his arm or his leggs he's a dub

These threads are so somber now.

nikkas seemed a lot happier celebrating ratings dips caused by white supremacists trying to punish black players for protesting
Yeah I always thought it was super weird how everyone here was excited about the white supremacists trying to tank the NFL. They were celebrating along with the alt right.
